Latin Standards - Marga Gomez’s work in progress about fathers, entertainment, wealth, poverty and cafe cubano. $10 Low priced tickets can be reserved at www.Brava.org (limiteds seating) Marga reenacts the the triumphs and demons of her father, Willy Chevalier, comedian, producer, songwriter, Cafe El Pico spokesperson, and a prominent figure in the golden era of New York’s Latino culture while illuminating his impact on her life as a queer Latina performing artist.  Latin Standards will be Marga’s twelfth solo show. 

MARGA GOMEZ  Marga is the writer/performer of eleven more solo plays which have been presented in the Bay Area, Off-Broadway, nationally and internationally. HuffPost named her a 2015 “Agent of Change.” The SF Weekly named Marga one of “2016’s Artists To Watch.” She teaches solo performance online and at Brava Theater where she is a tenured artist in residence. As a stand up comedian she has appeared on LOGO’s “One Night Stand Up,” Showtime's "Latino Laugh Festival,” Comedy Central’s “Out There" and HBO’s “Comic Relief” at the invitation of Robin Williams. Her website is margagomez.com
